The 'no dogs on beach' rule applies with effect from 1st May. And the council employs lifeguards. Both seem rather pointless on this particularly dreary May morning. George couldn't understand why he couldn't go down the steps to the beach.
'Because you're a dog, a vile creature whose poo can blind people.'
George looked as though he were about to argue but instead he just raised his eyebrows and humphed, 'Rules, eh?' I love the way my bit of world has been turned on its side. It always amazes me to realise that these cliffs, which appear so solid and unmovable, used to be horizontal - and millions of years before that, living creatures in the sea. (The Gower cliffs are mainly carboniferous limestone, which largely consists of endo- and exoskeletons.)

Surely it's different if you're basically with your dog?
Nope.
Glad George can access some beaches althogh I'm not sure I'd enjoy the cleanup when he returns home.
Luckie hates the water. We've tried introducing her to it with walks--no way. Guess her mutt genes don't include water dog.
She's not interested in boat rides, either--just car rides.
glad its may but only because it makes june even closer now :-) glad you still have some beaches for george :-)
At least you can still visit some of the beaches :-)
Lovely pictures. Glad George still gets to go on the beach. Our Diva loves it - although we have to hold her back or she'd be in the ocean with the waves getting all salty! I wouldn't care except she tends to consume it as she swims in it and I'm sure it wouldn't be good for her tummy. We do let her swim in lakes!
I suppose you do have to consider people's health, though it's a bit hard on George finding his familiar beaches off limits. Glad there are others he can still enjoy. You're lucky to live so close to all that amazing scenery.
How mean of them to ban dogs! George looks so pleased with himself there.
So at least George can still get happily mucky in some very pretty places.
