It's so hard to identify things like that. Could be young goose barnacles maybe? But I'm no expert on their family lives I'm afraid. I'll let you know if I find anything. It manages to look as if the shell is decked out with spring flowers. Your pictures are lovely, and I've thoroughly enjoyed reading about your walk.
