And called it macaroni

I asked Husband what he wanted for dinner tonight when I get back from circuit training. 'Beans on toast or macaroni cheese?'
'I don't mind,' he said. 'Whichever's easiest.'
'We'll have beans on toast then as I don't have any macaroni.'

It does sound weird, doesn't it? The 'Man,' in the previous post? It was just what I said to George when we were out and it felt right then - it added a little je ne sais quoi. But written down, it looks odd.

Oh dear, I'm a leftover hippy who's turned into Sybil Fawlty. ('Pretentious? Moi?')

Beans on toast sounds fine. I haven't liked macaroni cheese since my first pregnancy - though it might be better without the macaroni!

Macaroni cheese without the macaroni....improvise!

beans on toast is brilliant - kiddo's like it with chopped bacon and melted chees....

"Man" sounded perfectly fine to me. I say it all the time; does that make me pretentious or lower class? I'm confused. And speaking of confusion, I still don't know what beans and toast is:)

Glad you and George made it home safely after your adventure with the cows; they're usually quite polite, though a mother cow can be a little over-protective of her calf. George may be smarter than you think!

Yes, it sounded weird, but not Sybil Fawlty, more Rik Mayal in The Young Ones. X
