George and I have a disagreement

Late last night George and I had a disagreement.

I'd forgotten to put out the rubbish so I said, 'Come on, George. You can come with me to protect me from baddies.'
'I'm comfy and don't want to get up.'
'I was comfy and didn't want to get up when you were barking at the crack of dawn this morning, so GET UP!'
He muttered his way round the garden.

But he got his own back this morning. There was a pile of puppy sick just behind the kitchen door. 'Why didn't you bark to say you wanted to go out?'
He just raised his eyebrows and looked at me.

For most dogs the question would be: what did you eat that made you sick?
For George the question is: what, out of the many things you shouldn't have eaten but did, made you sick?
I'm not going to list them. A newcomer to this blog would get the idea that I was a very neglectful mummy whereas it is George who is the very naughty - and stupid - puppy.

George sounds very sensible to me! Rescue Dog is not a puppy but still is sick!! In fact Rescue Dog is behaving like a puppy because we have relegated him at night, quite recently to the kitchen, due to "puppy sickness and other nasties" and he is wailing and moaning through the night making us wish we had had a puppy instead!

Dogs are foolish creatures and should be treated that way. Make him go out at night by bellowing 'Off you go for a wee wee'!! Over and over again tillhe gets the idea!!

kofi (my dog) is always sick after he's eaten grass. then again there was a time he ate mouldy bagels and was sick, oh well, i always think better out than in with these things. at least george didn't throw up on carpet or a rug or the furniture.

I think you may be mistaken, Liz. I think George actually is very intelligent; he's just independent and refuses to kowtow to human demands. I can say that because I don't have to chase after him or clean up his messes:)

I don't know how I commented on your post with the video without watching the video, which I just did...thanks for including that. It was good to actually see George "in action."

I hope George is feeling better now and has caught up on his 'lost sleep'!

Animals do have a mind of their own. But we still to communicate and figure them out. Go figure! I am sure George is full of personality.

Goodness, what would you do without Geoge? Why you would be able to relax and put your feet up and have a cup of tea! But no, you have to chase George all over the countryside, the dog who would not leave the yard as a pup.
What a busy day you've had.

I know how you feel. I have 3 cats and it's not unusual for them to be sick - usually under the dining room table, for some reason.

It's my birthday tomorrow (7th June). I'm having a virtual birthday party. Please call by if you can.
