Born to run

Husband sat and hardly moved throughout the Springsteen concert. I said, 'You're boring to take to a concert.'
He said, 'You're embarrassing.'

Now what was embarrassing about a respectable middle-aged woman jumping up and down, waving her arms in the air, and singing at the top of her voice, 'Tramps like us, baby, we were born to run'? Precisely. Nothing.

Not in amongst the largest group of bald rockers that you've ever seen.

It was brilliant. A simple show - no fancy lights or anything - for about 50,000 people, starring musicians who were obviously enjoying themselves as much as we were. Springsteen and the E Street Band were on stage for nearly three hours and it was fab. A mix of old and new, slow and fast numbers. The Boss rocks!

I'd love to hear them perform "Dancing in the Dark" and "Born in the USA". Good grief, I can't even remember the last time I went to a live concert. Probably the Chicago concert Dear Hubby took me to see when we were first married in 1974!!

Hi Liz - "The Boss" certainly does rock! I saw him back in the eighties on one of his Aussie trips and he was fan-bloody-tastic! It easy to see where he got the "Boss" tag from. I loved him then and still love him now!

Great concert - and wow - what about the size of Clarence Clemens, the sax player! He is a giant of a man.

If I'd been there, you'd have seen me jumping up and down and screaming along! Did you give him a shot of something to get him going? Or was he sleepy?

Wish I had been there dancing and singing with you. Maybe husband is still recovering from the nasty bump to his head and next concert he'll be bopping right along with you!

I would have been jumping up and down right along with you! Your hubby sounds like mine; I tell mine if I'm embarrassing you, go sit somewhere else!

I'm often at gigs with my 17 year old son. We both sing along and he jumps about more than me but my knees are a lot older... ;-)

Mrs F and I go to gigs together as well... She often goes nuts - well simply red she will and no doubt James Blunt when there in Oct

suburbia, I don't know; he's more of a sit-and-listen sort - not the right type for loud rock concerts really!

How can the band tell your enjoying yourself if you don't jump up and down?
Well, I'll pass on the activity, but I'm happy to wave my arms about. And I'll sing loudly!
Husbands can sometimes be boring.

PS....You said "respectable"!
