My goodness - no need to ask if George has had a wonderful day!!!
I think a paddle in the sea should be next on his list.

I met a golden retriever on a walk today and although there was mud and water everywhere, he was so clean! I have never seen a dog so clean on a muddy walk.

Mine were always covered in mud, in fact they used to seek it out- just like George obviously does!

It's only mud, but a happy face.

He looks like he is wearing Wellington boots!

D'ya suppose he just wanted a bath and knew he'd get one this way? Or maybe he was keen for a swim and knew he'd get one this way.

Either way, looks like one happy pup!

Oh my goodness, he's turned black!

We've been talking about what kind of dog we're going to get once we're married. Since there won't be any babies (at *our* age...hmph) there will be a canine baby. So it's going to be a female golden lab and we're going to call her Daisy.

Wow,George spent the day in the mud and Luckie spent the day foraging in my husband's stash of sweet goodies!

My goldie once had a roll in a big puddle it the park. It turned out that some young gentlemen (not!) had set fire to a car there and the puddle contained some kind of oily substance. Exit one very patchily dirty dog! The funny thing was the way people kept stopping me and asking what breed this strange dog I was (supposedly!) in control of was! Luckily we did manage to get him clean again in the bath the next day!

Leslie, you cannot go wrong by getting a goldie. They are truly the most wonderful-natured dogs!

Ah - the perils of owning a light-coloured dog - my Jake got into a similar stinky state the other day. The more I think about it, the more alike I think Jake and George are. Must be something to do with being young boy dogs.
