Definitive proof that George has Harvey's genes

I let George out the front. I leave the door open so he can come in. George goes round the house and barks at the back door to be let in.

George doesn't see why he should have to stay in the boot. His place is in the front surely? He whimpers pitifully when we disagree. Then wriggles through the barricades onto the back seat.
On the way back I sit in the back seat to stop him coming through. He ends up sitting on my lap. Husband shouts, 'Push him back!'
As if.

When we first had our old dog Alice she always sat in the back seat (sometimes wanting to come in the front). Then we got a station wagon and thought it would be much safer for her to be in the back, behind a barricade like the one you have for George. Especially since she always stood the entire time she was in the car because it was so exciting.

Well, she hated it back there! She was always pushing her head through just like George, and whimpering. We finally gave in and let her sit in the back seat unless we went on a long trip.

So Diva has never been relegated to the back of the wagon but at least she knows enough to lie down when she's in the car!
