We were walking down the main road of Corralejo, some distance behind another couple. I did the woman thing of asking, 'Am I as fat as she is?'
'Gosh, no,' says well-trained Husband, who should have stopped at that point. Instead of going on to say, 'You look gorgeous from the back.'

Liz, so glad you're back. Men just don't get it sometimes. My personal favorite: "Do you think I'm as pretty as she is?" "You're prettier than she is ... she's really not all that pretty." They need to learn the "quit while you're ahead" thing!

Yes, husbands try very hard! Or ... they are very trying!
Bless 'em, they mean well, just, as Elsie says, they need to quit when they're ahead.
