Sympathy, please!

Elder Son's wedding is next Saturday. That's five days away. I am currently sneezing for Wales and could confuse a hedgehog with my snuffling. I'm also hot and cold and coughing ... but it will be fine! I will be better by then; I am confident.

Of course I might not have any shoes to wear ...

Don't go without shoes or you will catch another cold!

Seriously, you have all my sympathy. My suggestion is to take as much medication and vitamin C as you can get in the next 5 days and although it might not actually succeed in getting rid of it you will at least feel able to cope.
Next week is plenty of time to re-energise

At the first sign of a cold I always dose myself with extra-strong vitamin C and I very rarely succumb, but this time it didn't work! I will have some now in fact. Before I go to look for shoes.

Liz, let's put this in perspective. You can get over a cold, but you'll never get over not finding the right shoes. :-) In fact, I bet once you find the shoes, the cold disappears. If not, you still have the shoes! Gesundheit, girl!

Italians make red onion soup to get rid of a cold - and it works! Of course, you might have to buy lots of breath freshener spray after! You'll be fine, Liz... go get those shoes!

All will be well...

Echinachea (which isn't spelled like that) is fab for hounding out the cold.

Hope you managed to find some knock 'em dead shoes...

Get the shoes! 5 days. Get the shoes! Even if you're still sniffling, which you probably won't be, you can't go barefooted. Get the shoes!

Chicken soup served with a side of mantra "I will be fine, I will be fine, I will be fine."

There's nothing that will stop your enjoying this special day. Years from now you won't remember the cold or the shoes, but you'll always remember the feeling and how happy your son was. Congratulations to you and yours.

I've been dealing with runaway diarrhea at my house the past couple of days. I don't want to say I wish I had your cold, but a stuffy nose would help when I'm changing my grandson's messy diapers!
