Wedding plans

Elder Son is getting married in Twickenham, near London, in April. This afternoon I finally got round to booking hotel rooms for us all.

First cause for concern: 'Sorry, we don't seem to have a wedding in that name on that day.'

They did.

Second cause for concern: 'Sorry, all the rooms have gone.'

They did have superior, i.e. more expensive, rooms left.

That'll teach me to put off until tomorrow etc. Then again, maybe it won't.

While walking with Harvey, I worked out that it is 11 and a bit (very little bit) weeks to the wedding.

Not one person has yet asked me if I have my outfit.

They must have learned from their experience before Daughter's wedding.
'Have you got your outfit yet?'
'No, not yet.'
'Don't you think you should have it by now?'
'Nah, plenty of time.'

To prove my point I bought my handbag on the day of Daughter's wedding. It was fine. I would have used a carrier bag but everyone said I couldn't. I could have put it down for the photos.

Having visited a few times, Twickenham seems like a lovely place for a wedding. And your room upgrade seems a well-deserved treat, after all you are mother of the groom. Now about that dress...

I've asked you! Several times! Selective memory loss, if you ask me. When are we getting them? And I told you about the super-strong pants plan, didn't I? Yes: instead of an 11-week diet, am relying entirely on suck-it-in-pants. Hurrah!

I think the Hotel sounds as though it is going to have to be micro-managed somewhat.

How exciting. I bought a dress for my friend's wedding which is in July. I think this is more to do with my manic shopping frenzy than super-organisation. Are you wearing hats???
PS: Twickenham is lovely - I was born just down the road. And if you time it right, there might even be some rugby on!

You'll let me know when you have, won't you? And you deserve every bit of upgrade going. I'm stepmother-of-the-groom in August - sounds utterly awful but the son and fiancee are lovely so that's alright. I am planning outfit from very nice boutique (are they called that now?) once have shed numerous kilos. In theory.

I wouldn't start panicking 'til you're two weeks out and ... still don't have the outfit. LOL. I'm sure you'll find something lovely in plenty of time.

I'm a man and probably don't understand why a woman would need a new outfit. Must be something in the closet. Okay...I'll just shut up.
